Stats

I saw this on Camille's blog and thought it would be fun to see where Faith is at in the percentile world. This just cracks me up! If Faith gained one pound, she wouldn't be underweight. I think what I have learned most by dieting, is you have to be comfortable with yourself not what society thinks you should be. My daughter has an incredible body, she is muscular, lean and very healthy. O.K., I am getting off my soap box.
At 9 years and 4 months:
your child is 52 pounds, and that is at the 6th percentile for weight.
your child is 52 inches, and that is at the 33rd percentile for height.
A body mass index of 13.5,
which is below the 5th percentile,
and would indicate that your child is underweight.

Your child's ideal body weight would be at a BMI at the 5th percentile or above, and so would be at least 53 pounds.

  2. Thanks, I will remember that. Faith is a health nut for the most part but she has been known to put a dent in a box of Krispy Kreme's. LOL

  3. I can relate. Our kids are all naturally really thin, especially our oldest and youngest. They come from two parents that were "underweight" all of our childhood. When our oldest son was about Faith's age we had every test known to man done on him and we took him in to the pediatrician every 3 months for a weight check, only to eventually find out what I knew in the back of my mind all along: It's genetic.
